Hi Could anyone help look at the following spec in the picture

This is IdeaPad S410 (i5) and I can get it at approx. USD 666 here, it's an alumni student offer. Is such configuration at this price a great deal for laptop??
if it's, I think I ll not think too much and getting this one. If it's not, I ll wait and keep looking around for better. since I 'm not very familiar with the computer market.

Seems expensive for $666. It only has B/G/N wireless, 10/100 ethernet, 4 cell battery, and a low resolution screen.

I paid 630 for the laptop in my signature and it's got a way beefier graphics card than that as well as bigger screen. Processor in mine is a tad slower. I also got this laptop in April of last year, so take that as you will.

I personally don't think it's a great deal but it's not really a "rip-off" either. You could probably find something better on Newegg or Amazon if you're patient.

I've been hearing about newegg but never give it a try so far.

Are they authentic and reliable ? guaranteed? Are they from individual sellers or big firms??

BTW I guess I don't need an optical drive for notebook which is redundant

Newegg is extremely authentic and reliable. Never had an issue and thousands of people purchase there everyday. My whole computer was built through newegg except the processor and case.

I'm quite surprised you've never tried purchasing through them and don't know much about Newegg considering you've been on the forums for years..

Newegg sells and ships items by themselves unless stated. Rarely are items sold through them by another company.

Newegg is awesome. Fast and frequently free/cheap shipping as well as good customer service tailored to computer components. Prices are pretty good too, sometimes slightly higher than Amazon.

They do however sell stuff through other companies, but most of their main inventory won't be. It's typically other things that aren't "computer-y" stuff. Still that's not really much of a concern and it's pretty well stated that it's from a different company.

I purchased much of my computer through Newegg as well as components for numerous other builds. My laptop as well as 2 other identical ones came from there for my friends and they've all been great and shipped quickly.

I am in Hong Kong and I don't often upgrade hardware. I am not a PC enthusiast.

Now, I want a laptop, best to be a desktop replacement one because I will probably want to run it for 24 hours a day continuously.

Do you have any recommendation for a laptop that has good price on newegg?? I don't need a gaming laptop. I don't play games.

Laptops are not designed or ideal to run 24/7. Why do you need to run it 24/7? It's one thing if it's idle, but if the laptop will be performing tasks all day it will likely overheat.

it will not perform tasks all day, I don't usually shut down PC because I like to sleep with listening to soft music or radio broadcast, and I often get up to check messages or emails before breakfast. It doesn't perform any intended tasks all day but probably Antivirus, WeChat or Skype will be left active in the background

Why do you leave it on 24/7 for that? You don't have a phone to play music on? I could see leaving it on for music at night, but what about during the day when you are at work/school?

Seems like a small factor (mATX) desktop would suit you best.. Considering the CPU fan of a laptop will probably be louder then a single case fan, and it'll handle being left on a lot better as it won't wear as much.
