That's a socket 754 motherboard, it won't exactly be bad for gaming, but socket 754 processors has been phased out for quite a while now. The best processor you'll be able to get will be the AMD 64 3400+.

now for some memory... oh about 1g (dont know if 1 stick is good for if i want to add on later or if 2x512 is better) i think 184 pin is the one it needs...

The highest they go on newegg.com is the AMD Athlon 64 3200+, sadly. Take a look on pricegrabber.com or froogle and search around.

The Athlons are better, the semprons are 64 bit but the athlons have more cache, the 754 socket is about at its end, think there still going to make semprons for it for awhile but no more athlons!

Kinda weird, I build computers and I had 2 754 Athlons left over, I ordered 2 boards just like that about 2 weeks ago for them, but I already sold them both!
