Case: A-Top X-Blade Black Deluxe
PSU: 500w
Motherboard: Asus P5ND2 SLi
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 930 D - 3GHz
RAM: G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5300 £117
GPU: BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3
The rest i have like HDD etc.

Will this be good enough for new games. Ive always wanted to build a PC and i want this one to be good but not too expensive. Any suggestions will be good. Thnaks :D

I dont know about the motherboard, but I am assuming that the CPU and mobo are the same socket type, just incase.

If you want to play the newest games, get an AMD processor. It will be much better.

The GPU you have selected is nice and the 2GB of RAM should make it even better. Just change the CPU.

Thanks.
I don't know much about AMD so could anyone suggest a good one for under £200 and that can be overclocked well ill find a motherboard to suit it after. Thanks

Its quite a bit more expensive then the D 930 and i don't know how much of a difference there is in performance. The D 940 seems to be quite good to at 3.2GHz, to me it looks better than the AMD X2-3800+ and cheaper. Will i actually see the difference in performance:confused: Between D940 and X2-3800+
Thanks

The X2 3800+ would be better than the PD 940, but if you have a lower budget, the 930 would be a good CPU.

Well if thats all true then I suppose ill find a good price for the AMD and a good motherboard and do some research on overclocking it. Thanks alot.:D
I thought that the hight the GHz the better but i don't think thats the case now, dunno why though lol.
Can anyone suggest a good motherboard for it with SLI, around £60. Thanks again.

I dont know how many $ that is, but if you wanna overclock some good brands are DFI and Asus.

You will see a significant or even major improvement in gaming between the 2.
Well not so much with a 7600GT in the box, but sure the X2 is the better choice for a play machine, if the money is there. :)

Ive looked around and found the Asus A8N-SLi, which seems good and future proof, here is the link if anyone wants a look and tell me if it's a good choice?

Its a nice board that I think you'll be happy with for the AMD route. :)

Thanks for the support on the motherboard. Is there a better graphics card then the 7600GT for the same price of £120 that ive missed  . Thanks.

Cool. Has anyone got 2 of these cards in SLI mode, or does anyone know how they perform in SLI. With 512MB from the cards put together you should be able to get very good results. Right???

Running two mid end cards in multi GPU configuration isnt worth it, more often than not such configurations get outperformed by a single high end card. Besides, the memory is mirrored so you wont get twice the memory.

the HIS Hightech Radeon X850xt IceQ II is about the same price as the 7600GT and is quieter, more overclockable, and has 16 pixel pipelines...

Yeah, I would go with HIS X850XT even if it lacks SM3.0, 7600GT is still a nice card, can't go wrong about that.

Looked around for it and it seems to be a good card. £150 compared to £115 for the 7600GT though. I think ill stick with the 7600GT for now sice i play more strategy than action games and i think the GT will be enough, or will it?? If i need an extra boost ill just get another one to help with the load, thanks for all your suggestions though.:D
