i just got my comp 3 weeks ago and teh insde temp has nevr gone over 26 celcius but now it is up at 31 in the past week and im a litle worried i set teh alamr on the case to go off if it goes above 40 because i know that if teh case temp si 40 the components are alot hotter but i also added a gig of ram and a dvdrw drive would tha be cause of teh 8 degree increase
i also wonderd if i cleaned my case fans if that would help. ive herd that the 3200+ has qa cheap fan and gets preaty hot aswell so im a litle worried about m cpu especially this being my first build and belongs to me
 
When I first seated a AMD64 3500+ here the first night saw 60C when running a game and now sits at 38C idle and 43C when pushing it. The board at first was 2-3C higher then the cpu. Now they run at the same temp. These are actually lower then stock temps and are no cause for alarm unless you are running a water cooling setup.

Some prefer to blow out any dust and dirt on a monthly schedule to keep everything spotless on the inside. Certainly fans get clogged up after a period of time where a can of air cleaner can be a valuable asset. But having just put the case together you also have to allow for a breakin period similar to what used to be seen on auto engines. The concern would be if the temps suddenly started climbing right up over 50C to anything near 60C where there was a clear indicator of a fan having quit. That happened on a 3rd party cpu cooler with a 92mm fan on top of a 4" square copper bottomed aluminum sink. The old cpu actually reached 85C and still ran normal afterwards. The board shut itself off with the overheat protection there.
 
Don't be scared by runing your cpu in the 40's / mid 50's.

At room temp my cpu is 30 idle and 42 load, in hot weather its 44 idle and 52 load.

Have had a 3400 Clawhammer running at 89c for hours before, so im sure your 40s range wont hurt it:P
 
mine is at 51C when i watch movies, so their is nothing to worry about!
They are actually nice temparature. The lowest i ever had was 28C, and i was very amazed.....
 
Perhaps you could post a picture of your computer, with the side panel off. state where your fans are, video card, CPU, etc. Then maybe we can help in having a good ciculation.
 
The normal operating temps for an AMD 64bit cpu with stock cooling is generally seen in the mid 40Cs when idle. That will climb up over 50C when pushing a good load. The max temp is 70C according to AMD specification. Seeing temps still under 40C when loaded is better then average. After seating a cpu and HSF for the first time the temps will be a little lower until the thermal compund sees a few weeks pass. On one cpu the 39C idle saw an increase to 44C idle with an aftermarket cooler. Even though that was on a Socket A type processor it was well within normal operating temps even though the max for that type is either 90C on older 333mhz fsb models with 85C for max on the 400mhz fsb cpus. The newer models have a lowered max temp due to not drawing the power seen with the earlier ones. The average for a Socket A type was about 1.65v compared to the newer 1.35-1.4v. If the temps suddenly saw the 50Cs that would indicate the breakdown of the thermal compund or fan was on the way out.

i have a svking thermaqltake case with duel 120mm fans and speed adjusters and i have them on medeum if on max itl go back down to 25ish i was wondering how much i could oc o nstcok cooling i got a smart oc mother board so its nearly imposible to blow teh cpu if u go to hight and my temps have never been over 35 even when playing fear or oblivion im not shure how to post images i would if i can figure out how because i have a web cam

Well you are not doing that bad there at all. The items noticed here that work for you are the AMD cpu, Asus board, MSI video card, and 80gb WD Cavier hard drive. The iso psu and the brand of memory are a little unfamiliar here since you didn't name the brand memory in your sig. Someone else may have a better idea on how the supply measures up compared to Enermax, Antec, ThermalTake, Coolermaster and others.
The case here at present isn't really that much better with 2gb of Kingston value ram, an Antec True Power II 480w supply, MSI Radeon X1300 Pro, but two WD 250gb Cavier drives. When a clicking sound first thought as possible failing drive turned out to be the old board/cpu failing the second newer drive became the primary. That money before a rush replacement was ordered was being put aside for an even better build. That will either see two 120mm fans like those there or a water cooling setup instead of the 80mm pair currently used here. I usually see 43C with the board about 44C when online to 47-49C when loading the cpu. At complete idle the temp drops to an average of 38-40C. Yuo are running cooler temps. You have no room to complain there. :P
 
ok thanks for all the help i was just a litle worried and my ram is kingston and i dotn know the brand of psu because i cant find the box ist a duel fan psu and my local retailer uses it in all there gaming builds thanks for all the help
 
Your dealer can easily tell you the brand psu in the case there if you ever need a replacement. Someone building gaming cases knows enough to pick out a good supply so you should all set there.
