Is This Adequate For Protection?

Hello all.

Well, currently I'm using the following for "protection" on my computer: AVG Free Edition, Windows XP Pro Firewall ( updated regularly as well as the OS itself ), my router firewall and Spybot S&D? I mean, is there any other application you would recommend me use on top of these? At the moment I don't seem to have had any problems, no viruses, no hackers, no issues or unexplainable occurances thought to be the hand of spyware or malware? But then again if I don't have adequate protection, I wouldn't really know if I did have it would I. So I was wondering if that was enough?

Ok, AVG is not very good.. I tested several and to be honest it sucks. I used to think it was a lot better, but I was severely disappointed. Avast! slaughters it. Spybot is also useless. It used to be very effective about a year ago, but now it has stepped by the wayside and just takes up space. Better to get Ewido or Prevx1 (which you have to pay $20 USD a year for, but it's worth it. It just KILLS Ewido). Your firewall choice is fine.

If you have some spare time and are bored to tears, you can try what I do in my office. I use a separate Linux firewall with Smoothwall on it. It makes use of spare parts and the software is free. Damn it all if anyone can get past it. lol. If they do, there's a little treat waiting for them on the other side.
