I really dont care how much money I spend within reason ( not 16k...) and hope to use it for the occasional game, but moreso for downloading and burning. And movie making.

Here is the lowdown.

Bringing the total to 880.7$. I got all these prices from Newegg. I am really just checking to see if I omited something for it and the compatability. Or any suggestions for a slight upgrade for better perfromance. Thank you and looking for your replys.

everything looks good but its better to get a better PSU instead of the case PSU. usually the Case PSU is bad.

I dont know anything about your video card but what i have heard is that the nVidia 6800GS is one of the best cards for the money and it is right around that price range. it is the card i got and i like it so far.

I was debating about the psu, I figured since it is my first build I would have one in it, not for the money but I didnt want to install it myself, but I will look into one .

If you really don't want to buy the psu separately yet still want a good, reliable one...check out Antec cases. They are one of the select few brands that have very reliable psus inside their cases. Who knows, you might see a design you like. :)

Your CPU could use some improvement, particularly if it's going to be used for movie making. Take a look at Computer Spec 101 for some advice. Either the $700 'Play machine' or the $700 'General Purpose Machine' would probably be more suited (or the $800 machines if you want to spend a little more). Installing a PSU into a case is not a difficult task. If you're building the entire system it will be one of the easier tasks.

personally i would go with a better processor. perhaps an amd x2 4400 for example that will allow you to get away with almost anything very quickly

I would go with a 320GB SATAII 16MB drive for around $140.

I would go with an x1600XT or 6800GS.

I would go with 2x 1GB G.Skill value. $60 each

I would also consider a P4 3Ghz w/HT.

Not trying to bump my thread, but I have gone back and edited since I first posted. I belive everything is compatable. And I took some suggestions to upgrade a little. If anyone else has suggestions it would be appreciated. the total is at 750 tho I dont want to go to much over 800 if possible. Looking forward to your suggestions

by the looks of it everything looks good but look in computer specs 101. it has a better setup for $600-$700.
