Is this any good?

Hello,

I am a little out of touch on building a computer. I was looking at this motherboard/processor/memory combo.

My budget is about $1,300.00. I have already purchased 2 500GB/Go Seagate SATA hard drives. I will be using the computer for video editing, graphics, book keeping, and some gaming.

Thank you,
Jason

This one is little cheaper and is perfect - check reviews, I had it and it was as good as it could be (overclocked 920 to 3.2Ghz with stock cooler under 60C loaded).
I have built more than 200 computers in a few last years and swear will not use MSI boards again. And Gigabyte got much better now.

And for the original post - why spending money on that 2Gb kit in the first place? If you get DDR3 for i7 mobo like X58 make sure it does not need more than 1.65v (1.5v is the best)

Core i7 is def better than Q6700, at the end almost same money but how much closer to the current gen

Which one? Have read further on the motherboard I was considering and I have read nothing positive about it. The GIGABYTE mentioned earlier, will that have room for expansion later down the line? Now I am looking at getting a i7 processor.

Either MSI or Giga are well known and offer good boards. I use a ASUS and have no problems.

Read the thread about those SEAGATE HD!
