My build is in my signature.

I'm pretty solid on the components I have chosen, but I am unsure of the differences between the many brands of parts such as ASUS vs GIGABYTE vs GALAXY and so on. I am most concerned about the video card. Which is the over-all most efficient gtx 680 card?

my recommendations..

the parts you chose were good, but you can upgrade your 2600k to an 3570k or 3770k. then you should consider buying aftermarket cooler like the CM 212+ or maybe a corsair H60 would be great! just look around for it:)

i personally really like the Gigabyte GTX 680 Windforce, it looks great, cools great and is overclocked so performs greater than the normal ones;)

when my upgrades are too expensive you can drop your mobo to a Gigabyte GA-z77X-UD5H or GA-z77X-UD3H. those are badass too:)

No, upgrading from an i7 sb to an i7 ib is not an upgrade. More like a sidegrade. Could have gotten a GTX 670 EVGA FTW which performs the same but is cheaper.
