i found this card at real good price in NCIX, but the low costs makes me suspisous if its good or not?

http://search.ncix.com/displayproductdetail.php?sku=17948&vpn=256-P2-N553&manufacture=eVGA

this considering the 6800gs which is supposadly worse is $30+ over this
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=16724&vpn=256-P2-N386-AX&manufacture=eVGA
please advise if this is a good card(real question is if it is a Genuine 7600gt series without any performance cuts to reduce the price),

if it is i think its worth the price to buy me thinks :)

About the only thing the 6800GS has over the 7600GT is 256bit memory and apparently one extra vertex pipeline. Over all, I do beleive the 7600 would be much better.

http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=354&card2=385

It's all with marketing and previous prices(the 6000 series once being so expensive) I mean, I'm quite sure the 7900GT is faster than the 7800GTX, yet the 7800GTX still goes for more than the 7900GT...

same with XFX :)

Wait, but would with the 6800GS's 256-bit memory make it astonishingly better than the 7600's 128 bit?

no way,,, i heard 7600gt is one of the worst card you can get...

just like radean 1600,

well, not that 6800gs is a good card, but still there isn't much of a difference in these 2 cards performances.
i just don't trust the "un-well-known" cards like 7600...

have you heard of feedbacks from thos cards?
compared to 6800gs which preferrable card for many users.

This is completly wrong. If i have to comment on this subject one more time my head is gonna explode lol. Please do searches before posting a new thread. Many topics are covered here, which means a general topic like that was more than likely addressed.

Excuse, but are you nuts?

Both the GF6800GS and GF7600GT are very good cards.

I know exactly how you feel. YES, the 7600GT is a GREAT card, and NO the 128 bit bus doesn't impede the card to make it worse than the 6800GS

dam found out psu min requirments for it is 350w and mine is 305w... what happens if i buy it anyway with 305w psu?

i like the 6800GS's specs better. they say its 10gbps faster than the 7600gt at evga.com, and it probably is considering its 256-bit and the 7600gt is 128-bit... i mean really, 128-bit = lose.
smaller PSU than you need = lose. it won't run if it doesn't get the electricity that it needs. buy a new psu, you can get 400-500watts for like $50, be careful what brand you get because PSU's matter more than you think they do. (id suggest an antec, an aspire, or a thermaltake)

Kind of funny, I just posted this exact same msg on another thread.

The 7600gt is indeed better than the 6800gs, and clearly at that. The 7600gt is pretty much exactly smack-dab in between the 6800gs and 7800gt in terms of performance/benchmarking. Any and all reviews and benchmarks I've seen point to that. Here's one for an example:

http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/78490-7600gt-6800gs-gt.html#post803867

The benchmarks are down aways on the page.

The only minor conflict these two have when pitted against each other is this: The 6800gs is known to oc well, whereas the 7600gt supposedly doesn't oc that well. Apparently a decently oced 6800gs can close the gap considerably, but most cannot quite make it to 7600gt (stock) speeds. That's what I have heard anyway.

Bottom line: 7600gt > 6800gs by a good margin. 128-bit interface doesn't mean jack in this case. If the 7600gt was 256-bit....better have a damn good cooling system for it. :)

actually 128-bit means ALOT. sure it'd increase heat if it were 256-bit, but gddr3 can take tons of heat, not to mention it doesn't produce much heat compared to other older ddr's anyways. if that card were 256-bit, it would be better than a 7800gt easily... again... 256-bit = win.
the 7600gt is probably not very ocable because of voltage (or lack of it), its 90nm and runs VERY cool.

I obviously meant it doesn't mean anything in terms of performance vs say...the 6800gs. Make sure to read people's comments they make in the context of what they're saying.
