Hey guys I am a newb with computers and I wanted to know if this computer is worth 500$ NZLD (around $400 USD) as I wanna get a new comp ;D

+AMD Athlon II x 4 640 3.0GHz cpu
+ASUSTeK M4A77TD PRO motherboard
+1 TB Seagate Constellation hard drive
+ATI Radeon HD4600 512mb Video card
+7GB DDR3 Ram
+Optiarc DVDRW AD-7240S ATA
+Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed
+Windows 7 Ultimate COA on case

Comes with no monitor as i have 1.

All I want to do is play games, not hard core games like Battlefield 3 and stuff.
Games I want too play: League of Legends, RS, Combat Arms, BlackLight Retribution, ARMA II (DayZ), and a few MMORPG's.

Keep in mind most computers are pretty expensive throughout nz so is this worth 500 NZD?

not really. If it is used, then don't pay more than about 300 for it. None of the parts are any count really. The motherboard is a older low/mid range unit (770 chipset is from AM2(+) originally), the CPU is slow (no L3 cache, and overall just not great at all). The Graphics is 3 generations old, and is upper low end even for then. DDR3 is not running in dual channel mode, so memory operations will be slower. (there is no way to get 7GB in Dual channel DDR3). The hard drive is good. No mention of the PSU. Windows 7 ultimate is not bad, but make sure it is genuine.

Man... I have no idea where to get a decent computer for a relatively cheap price around NZ. Any suggestions?

I am not really sure. You can try ebay, but that carries risk. Maybe a site like craigslist if it is available in your country. I am not really sure of new zealand. Not had many build threads or buy threads from NZ at all, so no experience with what is good there or not.

OK, but is this computer worth 400 USD or should I just continue on the quest to find a better comp. Should I try extend my budget to like $1000 NZ or summin'?
