Is this compatible?

I am very new to the world of computer hardware. I have gotten little bits of advice that helped me to formulate a wishlist for myself on Newegg. I have looked through it and it looks alright to me, but I really don't want to buy anything until I get a few opinions. Can someone please run through this list and tell me if it will all work together, or if there is a different product that would do a better job for me?

This RAM is $5 more, but it has slightly lower latency (if you don't know what that is, it operates a little quicker - the lower the latency, the better) and only takes up 2 of your 4 slots on the mobo for RAM. That way, if you want to upgrade the amount you have later to 12 or 16GB, then you just have to add 1 or 2 more sticks rather than replacing all 4 - much cheaper! :)

I'm not an expert on PSU's but the price on that CoolerMaster scares me a little, so I'm not going to say it's bad but at least have someone look at that unit. I tend to stick with Antec an Corsair, but that's just me... :) Otherwise it all works together and should be a great build for you!

I already have the RAM, i bought that a while ago when it went on sale for $50 for 2 sticks of 2gb RAM.... what a fool i was to jump on that deal... but that is currently the only piece of hardware that I own for a build.

All-in-all did it look like it would work?

So do you have 4 sticks or 2 right now? Because if you only have 2, then I would look at either getting another single 4GB stick or waiting for a little bit and getting another 2x4GB kit so that all of your RAM slots aren't taken up by RAM that isn't the maximum supported by that board...

I have 4 sticks of 2gb atm

also, what do you mean by no maximum supported?

Darn, that's something to keep in mind for the future. I always buy sticks that are the maximum supported by the mobo I'm buying that way I can just add sticks to what's existing and don't have to spend a bunch more money in the future to fully upgrade the RAM capacity... :)

is this a bad thing, should I spend a little more money to get new RAM? that isn't a problem, i was just hoping I could use what i already had.

It's not really a bad thing, I just like to plan ahead... :) So I get the largest sticks that my mobo can handle that way later on if I want to go from 8GB to 16GB like in your case, I can just get 2 more sticks rather than having to get all 4 replaced...

Also, the latency being at 9 isn't bad, but if I can get something that's lower for a few bucks more, I definitely do that, too... The RAM you have isn't going to cripple your system by any means, these are just a few things that I look for when buying new components...
