Is this crap?

are u sure the brick is fried or just the plug, if u have a multi meter u could test it to see, if not then i think the one u posted is fine, my buddy just had to replace one for his toshiba and he ordered one similar in price and hasnt had one problem and that was a month or 2 ago
 
It's the cord going to the laptop on the brick, not the A/C cord. It's used mobile a lot, so electrical tape would be kind of hokey :P. Plus, it sparked a few times, so I don't know what that did. Either way, I'm not sure if I want to pop this open and solder it in again or not. I can do it, but...... Well, I solder to repair tube radios, not computer parts on circuit boards. I'm not so sure that I'm careful enough for that.
 
o man some of the solder pads/points are so small its hard, them bricks are a pain to open atleast the couple i had was, i had to a big vice grip hooked to a workbench and pry and chizel till it popped off which i found that the board was smoked, lol
