You have been drinking again havent you? I guess everybody that overclocks and raises their voltage can only do it for a brief amount of time without killing hardware. Your so vague it ridiculous, I guess thats how you twist out of every statement you make.

Raising your voltage to to get a better overclock is not going to kill anything unless you raise it to a unbelievable amount just to see how far it will go or your insane. You can raise the voltage, I have on many computers over the years and left it there the life time of the computer and its never burned out any thing and have know many people that have done the same.

Most of your statements are true in a stand in the corner with a blanket over your head way, but in gereral not true.

You are going to tell any newbie that comes along it's alright to simply crank the voltage up without any worries?! :rolleyes:

Any time you start cranking things up even in small increments you are at a certain degree of risk of seeing something damaged. While newer cpus are intended now to allow it to be far easier to oc without seeing locked multipliers the word "CAUTION" still has to be emphasized unless you simply have plenty of do re' me to toss around without regard.

fade2green514 made far more sense in his statement over your remark there. Ocing will place a stress and see temps rise on any hardware even when not even touching the voltages. For those with less experience the advise is simply taking baby steps when first trying to oc anything.
 
hey i'm no noob, i just was wondering how much harm it is to my CPU doing this volt increase... (If you weren't talking to me then just ignore this statement)...

If you read anything I said it makes your excuses pointless. Like I said your post are so vague it gives you wiggle room to get out of anything you say. You completely rephrase what you said to cover it up, or you mis quote what was said by someone else to mislead. Then give 2 paragraphs of noobness, I read this out of Computers For Dummies to cover it up.

Proceeding with some degree of caution in small steps would be the key phrase there. The previous statement wasn't fully directed at anyone but simply more generalized. You would start off with only a 1/10th of a volt increase just to see how that goes.
 
But like PC Eye said, only do it for a short period of time or god will strike it from out of heaven and it will set of fire or the she demon of circuits will rise from hell!

Just keep a eye on your temp. and dont let it get to high under idle and load and you will be fine.
