Is this Drive compatible with this mobo?

says SATA IDE.... does that mean i can use both SATA and IDE?

P.S. this is my first time building a pc from scratch... so please forgive the stupid question

You;ve got a bad copy/paste there.

That board supports 2 PATA (IDE) drives and 6 SATA drives. You can use both at the same time.
