Wondering if this would be a good enough pc for gaming:

HP Pavillion
-AMD 64 3400+
-1 GB of memory
-80GB 7200 rpm SATA Hard Drive
-48x max. CD-ROM Drive
-16x max. DVD-ROM
-17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
-256MB DDR ATI Radeon(TM) 9800 w/ TV-out & DVI cap

Please post back, and i know what ur gonna say why go with a manufacturer, cuz i dont wanna build a pc lol lol i would if i knew how but i heard HP is a good company for the $, esp since i wanna be gaming this is cheap for only $1200

Define gaming.
Do you intend to do 'gaming' on this pc?
If so, what type of 'gaming'?
Define good. :D

i plan to play like call of duty, command and conquerer, everquest, halo and stuff like that

should be fine for those games. 1GB of memory is perfect, powerful CPU, and a decent good vid card (might only need 128MB really, if u can save alot of $$$$)

Didnt know they made 256MB models of this card ... regardless the 9800 is numerous generations old and will bottleneck the system. You're better off with the 9800Pro

Nothing intensive there, you'll be fine

I also would choose AMD 64. Intel's with hyper threading are overrated in gaming, alot of games actually do better with HT OFF, as some have compatibility problems.
