I'm planning on buying a new iMac and the one I want has a 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo with 2MB shared L2 cache and I don't know much about that so is that good or should I spend the extra money and buy the 20 inch screen and that has a 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo with 2MB shared L2 cache. I don't really do much on the computer but surf the internet and chat on MSN and mess around with iTunes and photos.

Why? People say that they don't have near as many viruses like windows. Also macs can run most stuff that windows does.

True that macs don't have as many viruses written for them but it is becoming so that more and more are. You can't help it here though when most everyone is a windows or linux user and not a mac user. Anyways to answer your question either set-up that you get will be optimal. Those procs are very nice and will perform well.

What computers use linux? I'm not sure what my current Dell Insprion 1110 has but it is plenty fast for what I do.

Eeek Macs. Those things are baddd news.

that is very helpful for him.

this mac is good, and they are nice and secure with the lack of viruses and the like, and you can get most software that you need everyday for macs, and people do have macs so sure i think there is no problem with getting one. the only issue i see would be compatibility, but it is not that much of an issue if you are not doing anything too out of the ordinary
