is this good for the money?

i bought a dell dimension e510 for $998
heres the specs
1gb ram
250 gb harddrive
256mb video card
3.4GHz intel pentium 4 processor
wireless keyboard/optical mouse
windows xp media edition w/ reinstall disk
17" flat panel monitor
cd/dvd burners
linksys wireless router (so i can put it in my room instead of the living room)
and thats about it.

Seems like a good deal, but whats the actual video card? And dont expect great battery life with a P4.
 
If your into gaming I suggest you buy a better graphics card, something like a 7600gt, will cope much better with grapical applications than the X600:) (That is, if you're into gaming lol:) )

Thats a decent card, but dont expect to play new games maxed out.

its sometimes very hard to uprgade a dell dimensions because of there size and thast how they get u to they make u pay an instalation fee because they are the only ones who can do it unless u find a way it might be dificult
 
i was gonna do ibuypower but it was costing about 300 more than the dells w/ the same specs, so i just went ahead and got the dell. It should be coming in pretty soon so i guess i will find out if it was worth it or not.

i cant see that having the same specs. for 300 more you probably had a nice case and good psu and a dual core cpu. i havent seen a P4 on ibuypower

? why is it hard? some people just pay a dell because they don't want to build a computer and they just upgarde it.
