Is this good ram?

I'm not gonna lie, that looks like ram that was in a crappy machine that was on its way to the landfill.

I'd keep looking and look at better brands...

Corsair, G-Skill, OCZ..etc

Ryan, heatspreaders = cooler running = longer life and better performance. That is without looking at the actual components that were used, which again will be much higher quality

The brand also generally dictates quality and it also affects the kind of support you will get should the part ever fail. The Corsair module I put has full lifetime warranty with a manufacturer who are known world wide for outstanding customer service.

What Laquer Head means by it looks like RAM out of an old machine isn't necessarily due to aesthetics but more down to that pre-built systems 9 times out of 10 cut corners on parts to save money, including memory. The quality and performance you get from spending a a relatively small amount more is worth it.

The phrase you get what you pay for is absolutely correct when it comes to computers
