Is this memory compatible with my system?

The RAM i'm looking at is:
Corsair XMS2 Xtreme Performance TwinX Matched - memory - 2 GB ( 2 x 1 GB ) - DIMM 240-pin - 800mhz - DDR2

I'm running an ASUS P5S-MX-SE mobo, compatible?

also, i currently have an AUM 1 x 1GB 667Mhz RAM stick (one of them went faulty), if i bought just one of the Corsair XMS2 sticks, would the AUM 1GB 667mhz stick work alongside it or not?

I can't find much information about this computer, but as long as you have DDR2 slots, it should work fine.

As for using different speeds, RAM will only run as fast as the slowest RAM in the system. So if you're system can handle DDR2 800 but you have DDR2 667 and DDR2 800, you'll only get DDR2 667 speeds. However, the performance gain between the two standards is fairly minimal.

The ASUS P5S-MX-SE motherboard specifications state that DDR2 667 is the fastest memory this motherboard can handle. If you are buying Random Access Memory that is faster than DDR2 667 you are wasting your money in my opinion. Find some good quality DDR2 667 240-Pin memory for it.

I wouldn't try combining different memory brands as some motherboards do not run with different brands of memory. Buy two 1 gigabyte memory sticks of the same brand and and sell the remaining AUM 1 gigabyte DDR2 667 memory.
