Is this possible?

Hello there, new to the forum & it looks Great!

I just have a question for you guys. Would it be possible to go through the c drive of another laptop on my network and download the files? if so how would i go around doing this. I don't know much about Laptops or PC's.

Why am i wanting to do this? I am wanting to do this because i have an old laptop. and the screen is smashed. I can hardly see anything from my old laptop and obviously i would like to send my old files to my new laptop.

So if my old laptop had a good non smashed screen, i would simpily download the stuff on a memory stick or email them to me. but this isn't possible, because of the smashed Screen, so if you guys could help me out, that would be great!

It would be a lot easier to remove the hard drive from the smashed laptop and use a USB transfer cable like this one:
