Is this possible?

I dont know if this is possible but i was just wondering. I have a x800xl in my pci-e slot and i also have a pci slot. I was wondering if it was even possible to crossfire or watever my x800xl and then my lower pci card. I dont even know if they are close enough to eachotehr, or if it would be worth the upgrade?

Nope... They need to be identical cards and all. With different interfaces, things would get thrown off pretty bad. I don't know how fast PCIe 16x is right off, but I know regular PCI is a good bit slower than AGP(any speed) Hehe, you'd probably get worse performace trying to do this if it was even possible.

crossfire runs only as fast as the slowest card of the pair.

not really, because the second card would be running through the PCi bus, which operates at 133Mhz (correct me if im wrong). hats not a high speed at all, and would limit both the cards.

crossfire requires only one crossfire edition card and then the other card of the same type (x850 xt pe crossfire, and x850 xt pe) both pci-e. good idea though, but nope.

they dont have to be the same type exactly. a x850 crossfire can work witha x800 i believe
