Is this Processor ok?

I want to know if this processor is ok for gaming, I want to geta barebone kit and this is the most i can afford, but if the CPU sucks i wont get it. its a AMD Athlon 3300+/2.4Ghz.. Will this be good? Please let me know thanks!

It doesn't suck. Is it a socket 939 or 754? 939 is better, and you could later upgrade to an x2 if the mobo supports it Yes, the processor will be fine for gaming as long as you have enough ram (like a gig)

With this processor which games would i be able to support, i have a Nvidia Geforce 6600 GT, i really just need the computer to last me 2 more years... And the Processor will be ok?Thanks

almost any games. definitely balanced with a 6600gt. is it an athlon or a sempron? i dont think athlons come in "3300+"

Yes it will run most games. I have an athlon 3400, and it does very well. The bottleneck, however, is the 512MB of ram that I have and the *shudders* fx5200

Yea, it will. Id advise you to upgrade to 1GB aswell. The performance difference will be quite a bit.

its cheap and nice choice for bigginer, but i know you will want a better computer in the future...

i bought something like that 6month ago,
and now i know more about computers and bought a new computer...

computer world is very interesting, and for now, that computer is good for its price.

However if you look at the brands later on, you will notice that 512mb ram from ULTRA company only cost $20,
compared to 512mb ram from OCZ can be as expencive as $150 or more

Nothing to major, they have a very nice PSU on newegg for $60 ($50 after rebate), it's 520W with 35A on the +12V Rail.

The 3300 is fine. You can overclock that thing pretty easily. Just make sure its socket 939.
