Is This Ram Compatible With This Motherboard?

Don't think your links are working mate, but RipJawsX RAM will work with any motherboard that the i7 3770K supports/works with, so whoever told you that that RAM is incompatible is lying to you.

I've got RipJawsX and it's good stuff. :)

Can you send me a working link to your motherboard please? I wanna make sure it works before you go and buy anything. I'm just assuming at the moment.

Yep you can have 32GB with that board. :) 4x8GB DIMMs. You going to be using a 3770K?

is this the best model to get? and isn't it 4GB chips? so wouldn't i need 8 free ram slots?

and whats a good wireless network card that'll be optimized for gaming.

lol I'm spending 2 months paycheck for my build i hope i don't regret it.

You need to get four of these DIMMs in order to have 32GB on that board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231485 my Dad has that exact board and CPU and it runs with the 8GB modules just fine.

Not sure about wireless network cards, I just get the cheapest, they're all pretty similar. I'm sure somebody who knows more about that sort of stuff than I do will help you out there. :)

How far away are you from the router? Are there walls/obstacles in the way? Is it on a different level of the home?

lol wow its so expensive to get 32 gigs of ram, its that my pops has 16 GB on his macbook pro.

i just don't feel right having a high end desktop computer having the same amount of ram as a laptop.

i see the theres a difference of speed on the two types of ram u guys posted it.

would it be ok to get the cheaper/slower one? or if i get 32 GB might as well get the DDR 3 1600,

or is this all just a waste of money and ill be fine with 16 GB

not its just right there, i just want to see if there is a wireless network card that is as fast as being wired.

edit: just for the sake of technology

Really, there is no reason to get more than 8 gb is all your going to be doing is gaming. Only if you plan on doing video editing and other memory intensive apps would you need more than 8gb. Basically, you are throwing money away cause you'll never use it.

what about running multiple virtual machines?

I'm planning to put windows 8 on it when it comes out and windows XP.

and than later on make it into a hackintosh, so i can lets say grind on WoW while working on my app on Xcode, and DL torrents.

1. Hackintosh is illegal.
2. Torrents 99+% of the time are illegal.
3. Multiple virtual machines may eat up quite a bit of memory, but it will only use as much as you tell the program to use. I generally set 2-4GB aside to the VM when I got the memory to do so.

oh and another question,

when i have virtual machines and i allocate the ram, say i only have my base operating system on, since i only have my base OS on, would i be able to utilize the ram thats been allocated to the other virtual machines?

i've learned about mackintoshes recently as i started to help my dads company and learning to develop iOS apps and programming in general.

and its been said that as long as you own a copy of the OS or bought it its fine, and i wouldn't really see a way you would even get caught if it was illegal.

lol yea torrents are illegal, but to be safe u can use VPNs (which i used, since i barely DL torrents, but lets say if i wanted to build up a movie library), but torrents, and music being illegal is like taking extra ketchup, napkins, or straws at a mcdonalds.

your not supposed to, but a lot of people do it (lol not me but u all know u had a grandma or an uncle or maybe a parent that always did)

the content is just there, the downloaders shouldn't punished, although this whole bootlegging thing is going to be a thing of the pass sooner or later.

edit: lol it doesnt seem like you dl music or movies

It has nothing to do with the fact that you own the OS. The EULA that you MUST accept and abide by to install it, says that it is against the contract (EULA) to install on any computer that is not apple branded. By installing it on any non mac computer, including via VM, is a violation of the contract, which is illegal. Can also be covered under bootlegging too if they pushed it.

The downloaders are lust as at fault as the people that put them up. Go ahead and use them if you want, but don't come crying to us when bootleggers and torrent sites get the entire internet censored. And taking extra ketchup or straws or the like from the restaurant is theft.
