Is this really worth $4000? ?

it's a reasonable price for an alienware, but if you custom built it it would cost much less,

i also heard somewhere that if you have an alienware system, 3dmark detects it and rises the score so that the alienware looks better then custom made computer with same hardware

alienwears are realy a total rip of but as i said before its all about bragging :)
wowowowo you get top quality stuff from alienware. you have to consider that in australia things seem expensive to you because our dollar is so strong. so that is right for australia, of course if u do custom build you will be better able to get a cheaper comp with better specs

type all that into newegg im sure it will come out somewhere near half that. (if the $4000 is USD) ok nvm, i looked and it is in AU, still building would be much cheaper.

except that warranty, but when you have a computer forum why would you need a warranty ? :)

That's about $2,966.39 USD, still a lot for this day and age. Couple years ago it would be a deal I think.

Yeah if i did end up getting it would put another 6800GT in there make it SLI that would make it a bit of a beast then!

No, Just No.

I respect Alienware fully. they are an exelent company. My Unc has a Area-51 for about 4 years and no problems whatsoever. If I got a PC (not a mac) Config it would definently be an Alienware ALX Aurora. Sweetness. The only companies I admire more are Voodoo and Mac
