Is this Toshiba a good laptop?

crap, i paid $1090 for my toshiba at CC. Its pretty much the same, except i have the T2300 processor, no media card, and only 100(5400). GB HD. I do believe that is a better deal than i got!! Mines the A105-S4004. I really like it and have no problems except that cant play to intense games. It has outlasted both my roommates dells of equal age and similar price.

some of my friends are using toshiba laptops and the quality is pretty good (from their opinions)

i would suggest you to spend little more get a laptop with a individual vga card (such as entry level card like geforce Go7300) rather than a integreted vga card....i believe it will be a lot better in terms of general performance (not just gameing)

also laptop upgrading options are very limited....so do worth to get a mid-level performance laptop if possible
 
one thing i noticed about this laptop when i viewed it in person is that on the touchpad you can't scroll up and down a page by sliding your finger on the side. Is that just how it is or is there something wrong with that laptop? Can you download 3rd party programs that will enable you to do that?
 
i love the touchpad on my toshiba. It is a dual mode, being able to scroll adn use it as a regular mouse. When you tap the top right corner, it turns blue and can has shortcut buttons you can select, such as launching programs or printing or email shortcut. Its definately one of my favorite things about the toshiba.
