Is this worth buying?

Hey, I'm Garry. I joined this forum yesterday so I could learn more about computer hardware, etc. and I'll probably post now and then where I can.

I'm currently going to start building my first PC, and for starters I'm wondering if this motherboard is worth buying? I don't have a fixed budget yet. Also what CPUs will be compatible with this?

it depends what you'll be using it for.

and it's a AM3 socket.

Just for general use. I want it to be pretty fast though.

a mobo has little to do with how fast your entire system is... but it can help with overclocking. but it has potential though i do not recommend dual gpu's. the 2nd pci-e x16 slot runs on x4, which is usually used for low end cards.

imo pair it up with a phenom II x4 955 or better and a ati 5850 or higher and your system will be plenty fast. everything else is run of the mil..
