Is Vista a new OS? Or is it an extension for XP?

OK, i hear vista all the time now all I got to ask is Vista a whole new OS and should it only be used if your a gamer (in other words, is Vista worth getting if you don't play games)

im sticking with XP, i would deffinately not upgrade 2 Vista just because it's a brand new OS, you need a hell of a computer 2 run it well also..

Yes, I would stick with XP also until they work out any issues that arise with Vista. I'm sure there are security errors with it or something. It CAN'T be perfect...it's Microsoft...

Xp does me well and Vistas just better looks basicly which eats up more memory.

Vista did run well on my system but it didnt impress me that much that i would wonna buy it.

I get a free upgrade to Vista Home Prem when it comes out.......dont know if i shall or not........

Buy a new copy of XP Media Edition 2005 and you will get a little packet about Vista and how you will be able to download it free.......how exciting.....

Well i personaly dont see the point in buying it...And i know im not the only one.

Heck no. Vista is coming with a whole bunch of improvements that make life much easier. Just wait a month or so after it is out to check reviews and stuff because after all it is microsoft.

yep vista is so much faster and it doesnt take as much ram as you think. 1gb is enough but it doesnt even use half. the search feature makes life so much easier. it search not only files but programs, history and internet.

It's the little things that make a OS better, such as Vista will have independent progam volume control, So when your listening to loud music some stupid flash thing on a site won't mess up your music.

1GB would be on the low side, don't expect good gaming performance with only 1GB.
