Is Windows Vista really bad?

I have just this week started up a brand new computer with Vista and have had zero problems. I used Windows Easy Transfer for my files and email, etc. worked like a charm. I deliberately spec'd the computer with plenty of RAM
(2GB) and a good processor (Core Duo E6420). I think if you give Vista plenty of breathing space it is a great OS.
 
Can someone explain to me exactly how this DRM works because I have had no problem making backups of my DVDs and CDs on my new Windows Vista desktop?
