Hi-
Have a customer who is using Win 7 64-bit Hm Prm - loaded all drivers a week ago Monday - all worked fine... wife downloaded AOL zip files to print - was able to print one file (page) went to print second and it got stuck in Que and print spooler stopped! Printer went off line. We restarted print spooler- restarted PC- now spooler is working - but now Win 7 states that printer driver isn't installed... we reinstalled driver twice- rebooted PC and still the system can't find the printer(s)!
We unplugged the USB cable, printers disappeared in control panel - re-attached the cable and printer pops up but is GREY out! Tries to address the driver but only sees it as "unrecognized" - needs to reinstall print driver - but fails to work after install.
Does, HAS Anyone experienced this issue before? Does anyone have an idea what else to try or if Windows 7 is corrupted somehow?! Would Win 7 32-bit drivers be the issue - in other words... instead of using 64-bit driver - would that be what we need to do?!
Or could a virus be infecting the system preventing drivers to load/install completely in the control panel?
Open for suggestions and advice on this one?!
