WebCam : It says "the data is invaild" or something like that when i try to install my webcam. its a vdeo stingy ray used it b4, i had to reformat my computer and start over. since the fresh install It says "the data is invaild" when i try to install the usb device

did u plug it in before you installed the drivers? If u did, you need to delete all the keys relating to that piece of hardware from the registry, and then install the software BEFORE you plug in the web-cam.

go to start, run, and type in regedit and hit enter. The registry editor will open. Be CAREFUL IN HERE. You can mess up your computer. Dont delete anything your not sure of. Go to Edit and Find and type in your web-cam maker and keep searching, finding, and deleting all the keys that are from that maker. Then search for your model and do the same thing. Reboot your computer when you're done. Then install the drivers and plug in the web-cam. Hopefully this works for you, sometimes USB can be a major pain.

be sure you dont delete a reg key that is for some hardware which is off the same manufacturer, if its a logitec camera and you have a logitec mouse then be extra carefull of what you delete. Also make sure you have system restore turned on, that way anything you mess up can be fixed later

this is true, good point:) I forget about certain little details like that sometimes because I've found myself doing this a hundred times...

A solution to avoid that would also be to export registry keys before you delete them :)
