It's about time for a new desktop computer...

My Dell e510 is on it's last leg. My family is now looking into a new desktop computer. My Dad really enjoyed using my MacBook so I'm leaning toward an iMac, but I'm also considering PC's. Basically, if I get a PC, I'd want it to have a program similar to iMovie pre-installed. Is there such a thing? We'd be doing a lot of basic video editing and I need a computer with a simple program and iMovie is the only pre-installed program that comes to mind. I also need something with at least 2 GB of RAM and a dual-core processor with a clock speed over 2.0 GHz. Other than the iMac, do you guys have any suggestions?

Mine has all the parts that will do the job U'r looking for and if you wait there will be lots of people that will help you

Price really isn't an issue either. I just need something that doesn't hang programs too often, and that'll start up and just go. I don't want a computer that will display the desktop after start up but not let me do anything for two minutes while it's doing whatever it is that it does. My MacBook is good at just starting and going, so if there's a nice PC that'll do that I'd consider it. The thing holding me back from the iMac is the fact that my Dad has not familiarity with Mac OS X.

imacs are the way forward, my brother just got one and i was amazed how quick it was , from turning it on it takes about 1 second (no joke) to actually being able to move the mouse and access all the programmes with no sand timer thing its just able to run straight away

I know, my MacBook is just like that. I love how fast they boot up.

i would go with the i mac, it already has imovie installed and by the sounds of it you are familar with that. Plus your dad will get used to osx very quickly
