Hello. I have been working on a laptop of mine that has basically been through the ringer. Our newest issue is that I do not believe my motherboard is receiving any power. I was making progress on the repairs of this unfortunate PC when I decided to clean the connected between the hard drive and the motherboard. (Boy, that was a mistake!) See, one of the screws that holds the hard drive onto the board is stripped, so I was advised to pour some high concentration rubbing alcohol onto the connection.. which I have done before and it was fine. I'm not sure if I messed something up while trying to remove the screw, but now when you plug the AC adapter into the computer nothing lights up, and, of course, nothing happens when you put the battery in it. I know what this probably means - I shorted a circuit or some unfortunate happening. What I want to know is what should I do next? Now listen, I have been told 9876547875434567 times that the computer is just dead and I should throw it away and move on, but I do not want to. This is a fun, spare time project. If there is any possible way to fix it, I want to try. And hey, if I mess it up more.. who cares? It is dead right now anyway. So please, only optimistic answers!
