OK, so as the thread subject says, it's my first time building my own desktop computer, and I think I have no idea what I'm doing. I went on new egg and picked out my processor, motherboard, case graphics card, hard drive, power supply, wifi card, optical drive, sd card reader, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and RAM. I think they are all compatible, and will do what I need them to do, but I really want somebody who knows what they are doing to double check it for me before I purchase anything. I will post links to everything, but first I want to tell you what I want to use the desktop computer for. I want to use it for creating a portfolio of food (I'm a chef), games (like the sims 3), and surfing te web. I love playing games, but I'm not into games like spore or dirt (mostly just the sims). Ok so with that in mind, here are the links:

Any feed back would be amazing! Thank you!

get a 6770 card if you want AMD or a GTX460. Both are in the same price range and will run cooler than the 5770, plus be in this generation.

I wouldn't purchase a monitor that has been "Debranded", because some companies use the practice of switching the components inside the monitor. For ex: They replace the motherboard with a lower quality motherboard. You just don't know what the quality of the parts will be.

That computer should handle the sims 3 with ease, I agree with the statement about the monitor. If you search newegg for a little you can find better deals.
