For a while now i havent been able to connect to the itunes store. I dont know why, it just stopped working one day. Everytime i try i get "Itunes could not connect to the itunes store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active."

Im on my house wifi, im able to browse the web so my connection should be fine. I made sure my firewall allowed itunes. Ive reinstalled itunes with the most recent update, im not sure what else to do.....any ideas what the problem could be?

maybe this will help .... when i do the Run Diagnostics in itunes and do the network connectivity test, this is what i get

hmm... it kinda sounds like slow Internet problems to mee... but then again.. i dunno schizz about internet tech.

Do you happen to have any other security programs on your computer that may also provide a firewall?

Have you tried updating to the latest version of iTunes?

Still not working.... at this point ive uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and norton. removed itunes.exe from my allowed list on my firewall and put it back.. changed all my norton rules to allow everything.. and everything that ive stated before...

i dont know what to do its so annoying i have an iphone and i cant even update the os etc. its bs! lol still need help if anyone else has any ideas... ive read other threads on other forums with similar problems and nothing i can find helps...

maybe something to do with ports or sumthing i read something bout ssl or tcp or something but i forgot maybe some one knows what im talkin about ? any more help is greatly appreciated

I'll take a guess and say your router is 'blocking', or not allowing, the port(s) used by iTunes. Try allowing port 443. If you have a look at this web page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1629 it appears the iTunes Store uses this port, unless I'm looking at the wrong one, I don't know a great deal about all this. If that doesn't work, try some of the other ports related to iTunes on that list.

No worries, glad I could be of some help. Not too sure on the rest of your problem...are your desktop and laptop using the same wireless router? If you have more then one, you'll have to apply the same settings to both, if its only the one, then I'm not too sure. Did you try some of the other ports on that list?
