i just installed the newest itunes. but it is not opening.i saw on another computer forum that more people have this problem, i think this forum website is better so i wanted to ask if anyone knows what is up and how to fix it

Are there any pop ups or messages or anything that happens? This sounds like a software issue, have you tried uninstalling, deleting registry keys, then reinstalling?

well i did not uninstall i did do a repair but i dont want to lose my music so i did not uninstall. will i lose my music if i do?

I had trouble with Itunes 5 one time, I had to totally delete Itunes and Quicktime and re-install. Your music Should stay in it's place and be there for your Ipod as long as you don't delete your Ipod folder out of "My Music" But then again I'm not sure. But you most likely will have to unistall and re-install to get it working again anyway.

If you uninstall iTunes, you won't lose any of your songs, since it saves the songs in a different location. When you reinstall, you'll have to do a media search as well as make the playlists again, if you have any. Or, you can just get the playlists off of the iPod once everything is running again. It's best to uninstall a program like that if there are any problems with the updating process.

i uninstalled itunes but i can't uninstall quicktimes. i heard that the problem is sometimes related with quicktimes but i get a error saying

Error Number: 0x80040707
Description: DLL Function call crashed: QTInstallCode.QuickTimeUnInstallProc

Setup will now terminate.
