I currently have an iPhone 3G which I used to use in my car via USB lead into the stereo, however when I updated to 4.0 software it would not work in my car as the stereo just wouldn't recognise the new software. Therefore I reverted back to older software (3.1.3) which fixed the problem. I now use an iPod mini in my car instead of the phone, and both devices are synced to the same library.
I'm due to get an iPhone 4 in a few days, and as the phone will have 4.0 (or whatever it is now) which doesn't work in the car, I'm a little bit worried that when I next sync the iPod with the library it will change it to 4.0 and not work in my car again.
Am I correct in thinking this? I know the phone definitely won't anyways.
