Please set Windows to show hidden files:
  • From any folder, select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.

Please go to http://www.virustotal.com/, click on Browse, and upload the following file for analysis:

Then click Send File. Allow the file to be scanned, and then please copy and paste the results here for me to see.

my opinion

is ur system taking a long time while booting after the logon ?
that is do u get all such prob during startup


if s try this :

start--->run--->type msconfig--->ok

u will get a system config utility in which u have to go to startup tab
where u need to disable all tick marks in the checkbox and give ok

it will ask for a restart give it then c whether u get these prob

ur system will also be speedy at startup here after

pls say ur experience after trying it.:)

disabling chechboes does not remove malicious prog, rather it frees down the start up mode ,inorder to remove malicious progs u need to have softwares lik, spyware doctor , ad aware, spyware terminator etc.,

first remove ur internet media so that no hackers r remote desktop users have access to ur system then go for clearance.

u can stop unwanted prog from task manager but it is not recommended so that it leads to certain other probs lik unexpected termination of progs etc.,thereby shutting down the system r corrupting the system files.:(

What a...??? Like, you want to disable sound, antivirus, some of the useful tools...
Why not just delete windows, it may run faster!!

To ZoterX, just follow ceewi1 and it will be just fine.
 
first try out and then say

it is just a start up, it wont remove the entire software, a start up is a utility used to start the applic along with windows start up.

disabling start up alone does not cause any harm at all it is just like removing shortcuts from the start up folder.

malicious prog does not provide r place shortcuts in the start up folder, but it will start the applic along with windows, because it may have provided different start up location,,,THERE IS NO SINGLE STARTUP FOLDER AVAILABLE IN ANY SYSTEM as far as my concern, if u know start up option only from the

start--> programs-->start up , then ur wrong.

Please no matter what you think don't interrupt ceewi as he's an expert.
Also, take a look at here. Tell me why would you disable all startup items? People keep it enabled (I do it, I have 11 startup items enabled and my computer is doing great) and still they don't have problems.
And if the malware removal expert says something, for you, normal user it should be a law.
One more thing, disabling all of the startup items, I repeat, will not get your computer run visibly faster.
 
I realise that reducing startup items wont make it faster. This is my girlfriends pc, and startup is no problem. Ill follow ceewi's instructions and ill get back to you. Thank you!

Disabling everything at start-up is not a good idea...
Oh and we don't use those anti-spyware you mentioned ;) It's more complicated than that :P

Could it have just ... removed itself?
 
Unlikely that it's removed itself, but it could easily have been removed by a protection program on your PC. Your logfile now appears to be clean, so if you're not experiencing any more problems I'd say you're OK.

Below I have included some ideas on how to prevent future infections.

Please consider using these ideas to help secure your computer. While there is no way to guarantee safety when you use a computer, these steps will make it much less likely that you will need to endure another infection. While we really like to help people, we would rather help you protect yourself so that you won't need that help in the future.

Please navigate to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the Critical Updates for Windows. These will patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.

Please either enable Automatic Updates under Start -> Control Panel -> Automatic Updates or get into the habit of checking Windows Update regularly. They usually have security updates every month. You can set Windows to notify you of Updates so that you can choose, but only do this if you believe you are able to understand which ones are needed. This is a crucial security measure.

As a minimum, you need at least an antivirus, firewall and some type of anti-spyware program.

Some good free firewalls are ZoneAlarm, Kerio, or Outpost. All of these will provide a far greater level of protection than the firewall built into Windows.

Please consider installing and running some of the following programs; they are either free or have free versions of commercial programs:

Spybot-Search & Destroy
A tutorial on using Spybot to remove spyware from your computer may be found here. Please also remember to enable Spybot's
Immunize and TeaTimer features if you don't have the resident part of another anti-spyware program running.

SpywareBlaster
A tutorial on using SpywareBlaster to prevent malware from ever installing on your computer may be found here.

SpywareGuard
A tutorial on using SpywareGuard for real-time protection against spyware and hijackers may be found here.

If you use Internet Explorer, it is a good idea to use IE-Spyad which provides protections against malicious websites.

Please keep these programs up-to-date and run them whenever you suspect a problem to prevent malware problems. A number of programs have resident protection and it is a good idea to run the resident protection of one of each type of program to maintain protection. However, it is important to run only one resident program of each type since they can conflict and become less effective. That means only one antivirus, firewall and scanning anti-spyware program at a time. Passive protectors, like SpywareBlaster and IE-Spyad can be run with any of them.

Note that there are a lot of rogue programs out there that want to scare you into giving them your money and some malware actually claims to be security programs. If you get a popup for a security program that you did not install yourself, do NOT click on it and ask for help immediately. It is very important to run an antivirus and firewall, but you can't always rely on reviews and ads for information. Ask in a security forum that you trust if you are not sure. If you are unsure are looking for anti-spyware programs, you can find out if it is a rogue here:

Please consider using an alternate browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser is a very good alternative. In addition to being generally more secure than Internet Explorer, it has a very good built-in popup blocker and add-ons, like NoScripts, can make it even more secure. Opera is another good option.
