j. exe?

sometimes just an j.exe end now error comes when im not even doing something so serious or anything.
is this some kind of virus?

J.exe is a trojan virus. Remove it from your start up by going to Run>msconfig>startup and unchecking it. Then goto run again and type regedit. browse to these 3 places and delete any keys related to j.exe.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Then once it is disabled delete j.exe from C:\Windows\System32.
You now just removed a virus manually. :)

Have you tried booting to safe mode and running malwarebytes? IF you can't get malwarebytes to run, try combofix.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please follow the directions carefully and post the log file if you can get it to run.

i DID try running maleware bytes in safe mode, it ditint run.
only avg
and combofix install wont start.
also, when i want to open avg, it wont come!
also, when i press stop all scans it wont say anything
and i get avgxdc.exe end now before auto scan

Did you ever clean up your computer from the infections you had back in August or is this a continuation of that problem? Here is your post from August...

http://www.computerforum.com/156750-omg.html

If you never got it cleaned up then you need to take the hard drive out of your system and slave it to another system and scan it using a fully updated antivirus/malware program and let it delete whatever it finds. Then put it back in your system and scan it again using your own fully updated antivirus and Malwarebytes.

If you cleaned up your infection in August and you are reinfected again, then you need to learn good surfing habits.

1. Don't visit porn sights
2. Don't click on any popup ads
3. Scan your system on a daily basis to keep it somewhat in decent shape.
4. Don't open any email from unknown people.

So you never cleaned your system up from the problem you had in august? You will only be able to clean your system using the procedure I told you about back then and in my last reply. If you don't have anybody to help you do that then you need to take it and have someone clean the infection for you.

shit....there are fainancial problems dont ya kno these days lol...
also, what will happen if i let my comp be like this?

another fix

It seems like your machine is reaching (or has already reached) the point of no return.

I would recommend turning off the computer until you have the money to pay someone to fix it, otherwise its going to get REALLY messed up. Wait till you have to money to put it in the shop. If you dont, its gonna brick. Fair warning.

OR

Here are the alternate steps (1-5) to fix the problem.

1. Get a REALLY big hammer

2. Take out hard-drive and place it on the sidewalk

3. Smash hard-drive with the REALLY big hammer from step 1

4. Buy new hard-drive

5. Be more careful with what you do on the computer

Do not continue to use it

Most malicious programs (viruses, worms, trojans, joke-programs, etc...) are set to just gather information and/or hijack your computer. However, that doesn't mean that they can't do irreversible damage to your computer hardware.

If a malicious device is programmed to mess with firmware settings, your computer will be toast in a short amount of time. If a computer reboots constantly, or if the virus sets your screen to run in a way it wasn't designed, or if the virus causes your hard-drive to constantly "thrash", your computer will be destroyed. Plain and simple.

Also there are many infections which can become buried so deep they cant be removed. Also since you are operating with a diseased machine, you are spreading infection to numerous other people. Anyone you have on your email contacts is probably getting virus laden spam because of you.

Also you are essentially helping the makers of malicious programs by continuing to use that computer in the state its in. Their software has a home in your computer, and very likely your computer is working (without your knowledge) to spread infection around the web.

Don't take the chance of your computer becoming destroyed. You need to get your computer repaired.

change the name of the .exe file for malewarebytes and/or combofix and it will run just change it to whatever you want like eateagaege.exe or aera3r.exe. The virus probably knows of these programs and stops them from running but once you change the exe file name it will run.
