i soonwillbe travellingto japanand will most likely but pc parts, my question is will these parts run on australianmother boards. I thought the only problem i might have is that the cable might be sata not ide so if any 1 could help me out it would be good, thanx/

They will work fine. The only component that may not work fine are PSU's (and that's only because the plug itself may be different); if Japan use the same plug outlet AND same voltage that you do, there is no problem.

Just make sure you don't buy from little, suspicious shops.

You should be fine. Most power supplies include a voltage selection switch, you will need to make absolutely sure you set that to 230V upon returning to Australia, BEFORE TRYING TO TURN ON THE PC.

You will also need a different power cable, although I doubt that will be a problem.

I think Japan uses 110v. Parts in Japan would work on your motherboard, however, I know things in Japan are VERY expensive, don't know about computer parts though.
