I couldn't help noticing his or her sig, where he's got an SSD for the OS, and a standard HDD for his data.
It seems like a great idea! A super-fast SSD dedicated to your OS, and a fast SATA drive for the rest.
But does it actually work that way? I would think that the SSD would still be limited by the speed of the HDD as far as data access, no?
Just wondering, because if I utilize this in my next build, I could buy a smaller (and cheaper) SSD for Win7, instead of buying one large SSD.
Another question: Would anybody in their right mind buy a 1TB SSD drive for >$6k, when the price will likely drop by $5k or better in twelve months or less?
And, perhaps I'm wrong, but is that even a fair asking price from a manufacturer? Does it really cost that much to produce a large SSD?
