Joining avi clips

Hi chaps
I use my Digital Camera to take a few movie clips and I end up with 3, 4, 5 or more clips of the same subject. I need some free software to join "avi" clips together into one "avi" file.
There's loads on Google but most predate Vista/7, I've downloaded a few but none will run with Windows 7 although they will install.
Do you have a favourite that may work?
Cheers

If W7 has windows movie maker you can use that.

Unfortunately WMM stopped with Vista and there is only a cut down version called Windows Live Movie Maker that can be downloaded. I don't think it will do the job although I could try to download an earlier version, thanks.

If what you mean is that your camera saves, for example, a 1 minute video into 6 10 second videos, then windows live movie maker should work just fine

No, I took the dog to a beach on Sunday and started and stopped filming 8 times and ended up with 8 avi clips of different lengths between 2 minutes and 4 minutes each approx.
I just want to join them together to make like a 30 minute clip.

Read the comments before trying Kate's Video joiner.
Only 1 out of 4 said it worked and it left a watermark.

Kates Video Joiner was one of the ones that would install but stopped with an error when run. I downloaded and ran Windows Live Movie Maker and it joined them seamlessly, so although it's a stripped down version of the old Movie Maker it still had that facility for joining. :good:
