joypad wont work can any one help ???

i have just bought an adapter from ebay so i can use my ps2 controller on the pc ive plugged it in and my computer regonises it but the only buttons that work are my arrow keys and nothing else :S i know its not the controller im using because ive tried three different controllers now ive went to control panel and checked out all that and i calibrated the controller and everything seemed fine but then when i put my game on the only thing that works is the arrow keys i dont know what else it could be so if any one could help me id be extremely grateful :)
 
you might need to update the driver for the adapter...
did it come with any CD at all... if there is none, try searching for the driver for that adapter in Google
 
it didnt come with a driver cd and its a no make adapter so i cant search google for a driver :( is it possible the item could be faulty or am i just doing something wrong i dont want to have to send it back if it isnt faulty because its just a faff on and i will have to pay delivery charges to send it back :mad:
