Joystick Help?

I was wondering... i have a Saitek ST290 joystick that i use for my microsft flight simulator. My question is can i use thsi for gaming to or is it just a flight sim joystick. i Thought i read somewhere online that it could be used for gaming to? Anyone have any suggestions?

i will go ahead and say i am pretty confident you can use it for other games besides your obvious flight sims, only way to really find out is to do more research on the net or just try it with another game.

You can use it as a shifter in multiple race sims!! Heres the app you will need to use it as a shifter!

do you know of any good online race sims that are multiplayer or not that are free. i know of some. Not drift city though

Ok well i have tried to use the joystick in Warrock becasue there was a check box in the options menu but the joystick will still not work on any of my First person shooter games. Anyone have any suggestions?

I also tried it on Trackmania Nations Forever and i have a question about how to change the way it turns on there. I thought it would just be the twist to turn but i have to roll left and right to turn how can i fix this?

Generally in FPS games it only works for flying stuff IE in BF2 for planes and helicopters.
