are you gonna use all those RAM 1gb is enough. u can go 100gb but you might have trouble finding a 7200rpm.

For over $2000 i think i would wnat more than a Radeon 9700 mobile for gfx. they make PCI-E cards like 6600-6800 models and what not for laptops now im pretty sure.

Personally i'd cut back on the processor (maybe jsut get a slightly cheaper one) and see if i could get a better gfx card. i think even a 3000+ would be nice for gaming. but if you can afford more with a better gfx card no reason not to get a more powerful one.

well, graphics wise it certainly isn't. and the Dell uses DDR2 533MHz, which is better i think. it has a larger HDD too.

i would try to get the dell specs, jsut not in a dell machine.

GHz shouldn't be a deciding factor. You want processing power. For instance a 2GHz A64-FX machine will rape a 2GHz Athlon-XP machine upside down...but they are both still 2GHz.

2gigs of RAM really ins't necessary for most gaming. but for video editing or something liek that it can be helpful. Most games will work great with 1GB RAM. although BF2 is a resource hog and should REQUIRE 2GB i think.

GB on HDD is totally user dependant. i'd be fine with a 30GB personally, but other require 300GB or more for what they do. jsut get a fast drive with lots of bandwidth.

yup, game worthy card. I really suggest 6600 series or higher now a days. but that really depends on the games ur playing.

i think i am going to get an Inspiron XPS Gen 2 when theres a deal for under $2000. I wish they still had the 40 % off deal now its only 15 % off but its still too much.

It's lightning and i fear for the life of my computer, so i'll have to shutdown and link you tomorrow if i can.

But just keep watching those Dell coupons and rebates and all that. They happen VERRRYYY often...one of the few things i commend Dell for.
