Just a couple questions, please read (new to forum as well)

Ok. I'm going to build soon. I've done tons of research and watched some builds on youtube and one in person so I feel like I have the general idea. Now as far as my questions go:
1. Is this a good mobo? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813128064

2. What is the best monitor under $200?

Heres my build if anyone's wondering.

CPU-C2D 6750
GPU-8800gtx? Is this worth the money? Or should I go with the gts 320mb.
HDD-250 gb SB SATA
Media-Lite on w/lightscribe SATA
Memory-Corsair 2GB DDR2 800 pc6400
Monitor- Samsung 941BW??
Mobo- Aforementioned?? Gigabyte p-35 DS4 1333 fsb
OS- 64-bit Vista premium for system builders
This is all $1450 on newegg.com w/$25 shipping included. Good deal or no?

I have:
PS- Antec Truepower 650W
Case-Antec 900
Saitek Eclipse 2
Logitech G5 mouse

Please suggest anything, I'm open to ideas. Anything to help.
 
Oh by the way I plan to use it primarily for gaming. Maybe some video editing here and there but mainly gaming.
 
dont get a 64 bit Windows, just get the 32 bit version, there is hardly any benefit noticed from a 64 bit OS at the moment, and for your needs 32 is fine, and 32 has much more support, especially as new as Vista is...

heck id suggest XP Home 32 bit if I were you
 
Cripes, that a lot of USB ports. I don't think I have that many USB devices for *all* of our computers.
 
You mean the 4 on the mobo and then the 2 on the case?

What are the differences between 32 bit and 64 bit vista??

Does that motherboard seem like a good fit? I don't want to undercut anything in terms of reliability (I don't want a shoddy component). Also, does that price seem pretty standard for that setup?

BTW today, in a marketing course I'm taking, my professor was talking about the advantages of HP over Dell. So I chimed in with the advantages of self-building and I think I got a couple people convinced. :)
 
The difference between 32-bit and 64-bit right now, as far as I know, is negligible other than the fact that 64-bit OS is able to recognize 4GB or more of RAM while 32-bit OS is only able to recognize a maximum of 3.12GB

Another thing is that some games might face a compatibility issues with 64-bit Vista especially the older games.

That motherboard is a good solid mobo. I myself would be getting the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L. A lot of good reviews regarding GIGABYTE mobo so you should be fine with that one.

As for the price, that total sounds about right. My future build has about the same total price except mine I chose 500GB HD.

Last but not least, good job on convincing some of your classmates to try to build their own computer. :D:D
