Looking to upgrade my Video Card from a PCI-E 6800 to a much better card like the one in the link below. The problem I might see happening is my PSU is rated at 350 watts and thats the minimum the new card I am looking to buy calls for. Will/Should I purchase a new PSU? Because I really don't want to.

Its a Dell

3.4 Ghz Processor W/HT
2 Gigs of Ram
160 GiG Hard Drive ( I am not sure if its RAID or whatnot)
CD Burner/Player Drive (all in one)
DVD Burner/Player Drive ( all in one)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZX
19 Inch Flat Screen Monitor (if it matters)
My PSU is rated at 350 Watts (stock from Dell)
 
i'd imagine you would be at least pushing the limits of your psu by getting that card, a better one would be advisable
 
its not too difficult to install, just take a note of what comes out of where. The main one that can be missed is the ATx board connector, its a square 4 pin one. Other than that you have your 20/24 pin to motherboard, can't miss that cos its a massive bugger. The pci express one to your gfx card and the rest go to your drives and fans....

the fun part is making it all look neat and tidy :P
 
haha alright I will keep that in mind. Which size PSU would you recommend I was thinking if I am going to swap one out might as well go with a 500-600 so if I do anymore I don't have to change it again later. What do you think?

500w and above should be ample for your needs, look at brands such as OCZ, Hiper, Antec etc....try and get a psu with at least dual 12v rails (should tell you on product description) :)
 
Oh yeah one more question for ya. Are all PSU kept to a standard size? Or do they differ? How do I know what will fit my comp and what won't fit my comp?
So I dont order the wrong thing.
