I just bought a socket 939 3400+ Venice core cpu off of ebay and I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this processor? The only things I've heard is that it's only an OEM processor that was not supposed to be on the market, it's rare, and it only has a 800 MHz HTT compared to the 3500+ venice which has 1000 MHz HTT. What is the deal here?

Id say that you got one of the older socket 939s... I didnt even know that there was a venice cored 3400+.

theres no such thing. the 3400+ was only a 754 socket cpu. i used to own a 3400+ 130nm, decent proc. have you recieved it yet?
if you've recieved it you can simply look at the top of the processor and it'll have the model number.

Actually they did make them since my girlfriend's dad has one in is 939 mobo right now.

However the auction had pictures and the model number is ADA3400DAA4BZ. I haven't recieved it yet because it just ended about 2 hours ago.

According to AMDs website all 344+'s are 754's or AM2s, and if you input the model number it cant find it :/

Hmm I hope it runs at 1000mhz. If not, I'll over clock it. Thanks for the reply!
i'd check overclock.net, you might be able to attain the world record with that rare chip ;)

Go to this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Athlon_64_microprocessors

And note* "The Socket 939 3400+ (both Newcastle and Venice versions) is an OEM-only chip and was never directly available from AMD. It shares all Socket 939 3500+ characteristics with the exception of the 800 MHz HyperTransport Link."

It is real guys because my girlfriend's Dad has an Asus A8V-Deluxe socket 939 mobo with a 939 3400+ cpu that he got from Tiger Direct a year ago. I helped him install it. Trust me it's a real chip.
