I just bought a DELL compujter and I can not get it to copy my songs off of cd so that I cna just leave my computer palying 3-4 cds looped. I copy the files to the hard drive and then when I go to play them it just goes to windows media player with a blank screen no files no nothing just media plaer open.

Please help. I know that the files are coming up a cdm files, I thought they should copy as cd audio files?
It doesn't have any other software to play music so I guess I just need help on how to copy the files in a format the media player will recognize.

THANKS

There are a number of ways to copy audio tracks from a CD.

One way in Windows Vista is to use Windows Media Player. First, with the CD in the drive, start Windows Media Player by clicking the Start button and choosing Windows Media Player (or you can type wmplayer in the Search box).

If you would like to see some options, right-click the Now Playing tab and choose More Options. Select the Rip Music tab. Here you can choose the destination folder to copy the CD tracks to, and you can choose the file format you want them saved in (Windows Media, MP3, WAV, etc.)

In the player, click the Rip button and check the tracks you want to copy. Click the Start Rip button to copy. When the copy is completed, go to the destination folder and find the files. You should be able to play them in Windows Media Player.

Don't let Vista give you a bad time! :)
