just built a new computer having problems

i keep getting the bsod after a short time on the computer

ive ran memtest and got no errors

also ran the hard drive test and no problems there

only thing wrong is the chipset heatsink is very hot is it maybe a defective mb?

the mb is a asus m5a87

any input would help all the bsod errors seem to be for different reasons

could it be the chipset overheating?
 
Wouldn't overheating cause an immediate shut down of the computer?

Have you tried a fresh install of Windows on you PC? Did you install a driver wrong or not install one at all? Maybe something because corrupted?

reinstalled windows and the problem seems to of been fixed i think it was a bad driver
