Just Checking to be Sure

I just wanted to check with you folks and make sure that this is a good MOBO

to use with this CPU.

I don't have any immediate plans to O.C. but evidently this board allows for it, at least to some degree. Basically, being as this is my first build, I just want to make sure they are completely compatible, and that this is a quality board. I checked Intels' compatibility chart and it doesn't show this mobo, so that's why I'm checking with you folks. Thanks in advance for your input. :)

for some reason, the $411 processor is telling me to try to convince you to get an AMD processor..

if you'd rather get a p4, that stuff looks good :D

Well, Ive been on the fence about whether to go Intel or AMD. What I forgot to mention earlier is that I don't have any intention of using SLI. So if you want to recommend another board, I'll give it some thought. Thanks.

If u want my advice...Intel..forever and ever together :P
Not for gaming.

Buying the board and CPU depends on what you want to do with them. Are you planning on gaming, or using the computer for work/multitasking?

Both.
Though the types of games that I will likely be playing will range from point and click D & D (NwN Platinum, NwN II [when ever it comes out], DUNGeon Lords [yes, I know, but I paid $40.00, so I gotta try to get my $ worth], etc.), to stuff like Combat Flight Sim. 3. I've also got a 3D cabinet design program that this Dell Dimension 2400 (2.66 GHz. P4 / 1GB. DDR 333) can barely cope with. I'll also want to be able to edit some fairly high byte digital photos. So I'm hoping to be able to do a little of everything well. My biggest concern at this point, being as this is my first build, is not ending up with ANY hardware compatibility issues, or having to "Flash" or update the Bios before I even get the thing up and running. :)

that intel is extrmely expensive, you can get a intel dual core or amd dual core for cheaper then that.
